Black ceramic is a revolutionary space-age material. It is lighter than titanium and tougher than tungsten carbide. Black Zirconia ceramic has a metallic appearance, and solid black color.
Brilliantly gleaming, it closely resembles black diamonds in color and toughness.
Zirconia based ceramic is one of the highest-strength ceramics available today. Its light weight, toughness, and extreme resistance to abrasion makes it an ideal material for use in advanced medical science and space technologies. But its beautiful metallic-black color makes this supper-material the obvious choice for contemporary jewelry.
FAQ and information.
Are these black titanium rings or black tungsten rings?
No, we do not work with black titanium material. Black titanium rings are made of special grade titanium, that when heat treated produces a thin layer of black deposit on the surface, the deposit is tough and somewhat scratch resistant, but thin and will scratch off with time, showing white scratches on black surface! Black tungsten ring or black titanium ring cannot be refinished
The rings you see here are made of black zirconia ceramic. They are solid color all the way through! Two-tone rings are made of tungsten carbide with black ceramic inlays. We also offer a collection of tungsten rings
Are zirconia ceramic rings scratch proof?
Yes, zirconia ceramic is extremely hard and virtually scratch proof. It measures 9 on the Mohs hardness scale. Mohs scale grades the scratch resistance of various materials, comparing the ability of a harder material to scratch a softer material. Diamond is a 10 ( the hardest), gold is a 3, titanium is a 6, etc)
Only diamond and corundum abrasives can scratch black zirconia ceramic rings.
Do you offer black titanium rings?
We only work with natural color titanium.
We have an extended collection of titanium rings, gold and platinum inlaid titanium rings, and titanium jewelry. |
